LACTATION SUPPORT
The breastfeeding relationship between mother and baby can present a wide learning curve. Whether you are expecting your first or fifth baby, you may find yourself in need of nonjudgemental breastfeeding support, and practical advice.
We have a specialized, in-house lactation team with two IBCLCs and several certified lactation counselors to serve your needs either in your home, at our office in Franklin, or virtually. Your insurance may cover some or all lactation visits. Additionally, all birth doula packages include an in-home feeding support visit after birth at no extra charge.

Lactation support with our IBCLC team may be covered by your insurance.

When on the TLN site, if Nashville Doula Services does not pre-populate on the form, please add it manually so you can connect with our IBCLCs.
WELCOME HOME BABY
-In-home feeding support 3-5 days after birth-
Research shows that support in the early days of breastfeeding makes all the difference. With this standard service, one of our CLCs will visit you within the first week after birth. Changes in baby’s latch, breast engorgement, and concerns about weight gain are a few of the common issues in the first weeks of breastfeeding. During this 60-90 minute visit, your CLC will ask how breastfeeding has gone since birth, examine you and your baby, weigh your baby, observe a feeding and provide feedback on latch and positioning, and answer your questions.
You’ll also be able to ask routine follow-up questions via email and messaging for 2 weeks after your visit. If any issues are identified during this visit or after, your CLC will provide you with recommendations and resources for follow-up care, including with an IBCLC for further evaluation if needed.
*Please note, this service is intended to be signed up for before your baby arrives.
*If you are not breastfeeding, you can utilize the support of a certified lactation counselor, to help you stop your milk production and make sure you are bottle feeding your baby with safe practices.
