Kat Piper
Childbirth Educator & Birth Doula
Kat has been a birth doula and childbirth educator since 2016, supporting families through pregnancy and birth with a focus on trauma-informed care and perinatal mental health. She believes deeply in informed consent and client autonomy, not because birth can be controlled, but because parents are better equipped to navigate the reality of the process when they understand their options and know how to ask good questions.
As a doula, she often describes her role as being the emotional bouncer of your birth space. Her job is to protect the bubble you and your partner are in so you can stay present, connected, and focused on the work of birth. As a birth worker, advocacy does not mean speaking on her client's behalf, it means handing them the microphone and making sure the room is quiet enough for their voice to be heard.
She has attended well over 100 births and taught more than 250 childbirth classes, and she has seen firsthand how education changes experiences. Birth classes do not replace support-they strengthen it. She supports all birth preferences and family dynamics with respect, curiosity, and care.
She lives in Nashville with her daughter, who knows far too much about reproductive health, two dogs (one of whom is good) and a very sturdy metaphorical soapbox with the words “informed consent” written on it in block letters.

What clients have said…
“We really enjoyed the class and liked how it was very conversational. The curriculum hit a lot of topics, and we really liked that we were able to take a one-day intensive instead of splitting the content up over several classes.” -K. & B. Miller
“The one day class was packed full of information. I really appreciated the format and atmosphere that was created to help my husband and I learn together. I was especially encouraged by Kat and her empathy/education for not only the physical side of pregnancy/birth, but also the emotional and psychological side as well. It resonated deeply with me as a first time mom. I’ve already encouraged one of my pregnant friends to take the class!” -Alison M.
“As much as I loved this class, my husband loved it even more and tells everyone he knows about it! Kat did such a wonderful job educating while also answering questions and making all the future parents feel heard and eased any nerves. As someone who is going naturally, I loved being able to hear about all aspects of birth, the medical side included! My husband and I left with so much more knowledge and confidence going into birth!” -Taylor P.
