ReJean Rouse
Birth Doula
ReJean is a Nashville native, social worker, and full-spectrum doula. More than anything, she is passionate about empowering women and families as they navigate pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the incredible transition into parenthood.
ReJean’s journey to birth work wasn't a straight line, but when she looks back, she can see it was always leading her here. As a teenager, she had the opportunity to shadow a family friend in the NICU. She walked away knowing two things: she loved babies, and she wanted to spend her life caring for families during some of their most vulnerable and transformative moments.
ReJean began college planning to become a NICU nurse, but after balancing academics with collegiate athletics, her plans shifted. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, later completing a Master of Social Work with a concentration in generational trauma and parenting.
She has spent years serving children and families in various roles. Throughout every chapter, one thing remained constant: ReJean was drawn to helping families build strong, healthy foundations.
During graduate school, she discovered the world of doulas. The more she learned, the more she realized doulas beautifully combined everything she loved—education, advocacy, intentional support, and caring for families well.
Becoming a doula has been the most grounding and purpose-filled decision of her life. As your doula, ReJean’s goal is never to tell you how your birth should look. Instead, she strives to help you feel informed, supported, and confident in making decisions that are best for you and your family. It is an incredible privilege to witness families welcome new life into the world, and every family deserves compassionate, evidence-based support that honors their unique values, goals, and choices. ReJean believes in the power of education, preparation, and specialized care to ensure you feel heard, respected, and confident, throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond. She feels honored to walk alongside families during one of the most transformative seasons of their lives.
Birth is more than welcoming a baby—it's the beginning of a new family story. When she is not attending births or supporting families, you'll likely find ReJean playing tennis, spending time in nature, enjoying a good book, or continuing to learn more about pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and holistic wellness.

”We did not have a doula for our first birth and knew we wanted one for this birth. Having a doula gave us so much peace and comfort. We were in a room with nurses we did not know and when ReJean came, in both my wife and I immediately felt so much better having a friend in our corner. ”
